During our upcoming visit to Cambridge, we anticipate experiencing The Clements Hotel, a place that truly blends historical charm with modern boutique accommodation. Housed in a beautifully renovated heritage building, formerly known as the Masonic Hotel, The Clements aims to offer a refined experience, and in our view, it is poised to largely succeed.
One of the first things we expect to appreciate is the parking. The hotel provides free onsite self-parking, which is always a plus, and they also have an electric vehicle charging point, along with additional free off-site parking nearby. This should make our arrival and departure very smooth.
The Clements Hotel offers a range of amenities that we believe will enhance our stay. We particularly look forward to the dining options. The Gallery Restaurant features cuisine inspired by the local Cambridge food scene, and The Clements Café & Wine Bar appears to be a great spot, transitioning from a casual daytime setting to a stylish evening wine bar. We also plan to check out the basement bar, “1866,” styled as a speakeasy, which we hear offers craft cocktails and a vibrant atmosphere.
Beyond the food and drink, the hotel provides spaces for gatherings, including meeting rooms and an events lawn. Though we don’t yet know if we will have time to indulge, we note that spa services and massage treatments are available for those seeking relaxation.
The Clements Hotel occupies a building with a rich and interesting history. Originally built in 1866 and rebuilt in 1911, the property retains historical elements such as a sweeping staircase and stained-glass windows, which we expect will add to the overall ambiance. The 29 guest rooms, ranging from Deluxe to the premium Clements Suite, seem well-appointed, with features like marble floors and luxurious amenities.
In essence, we believe The Clements Hotel will provide us with a memorable boutique experience, successfully blending its historical setting with contemporary comforts and amenities.
