Waipu Glamping is located on a lifestyle property overlooking beautiful native bush.
Visitors can enjoy observing native flora, including iconic kauri trees and delicate silver ferns. Listen for the melodious calls of Tui and Fantail birds, which are common sights near the glamping site, adding to the peaceful atmosphere.
It’s an ideal place to come and relax, unwind, enjoy, stargaze and listen to the Kiwi and Ruru (Morepork) at night.
Waipu Glamping is situated 10 minutes away from the very quaint township of Waipu. A further 10 minutes from Waipu Cove (which has a stunning beach, clean white sand and views of ‘Hen and Chicks’ and ‘Sail Rock’ Islands).
Waipu Cove offers great surfing conditions and scenic walking tracks. Explore local attractions in Waipu, such as the historical museum and local markets, which provide a glimpse into the town’s rich heritage and vibrant local culture.
Brian and Barb have established Waipu Glamping – as glamour with a little touch of rustic. The tent is situated in a rolling green paddock, near the main house but maintains its own privacy overlooking native bush. Suitable for couples, it also sleeps four comfortably.
A perfect place for that romantic getaway but is also well suited for families wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of life to reconnect, play and have fun. You can even bring the dog as the site is pet friendly.
The tent includes cozy bedding, a small kitchenette, and solar-powered lighting, ensuring comfort in the rustic setting. Shared bathroom facilities with hot showers are conveniently located nearby, enhancing the glamping experience.
Waipu Glamping emphasizes sustainability, using eco-friendly materials and supporting local conservation initiatives. The site operates on solar power, reducing its carbon footprint, while promoting environmental awareness among its visitors.
Waipu enjoys a mild climate year-round, with warm summers and cool winters. The best time to visit is between November and April, when the weather is perfect for outdoor activities and exploring the beautiful Northland scenery.

4 years agoWhat an awesome spot. Quiet, peaceful and still. It has everything you could need, 10 mins away from the shops/beach, but sufficiently tucked away that you wouldn't know. The outdoor bath is something special on a clear night. Barb and Brian were wonderful hosts. It was immaculately clean and well maintained. Totally worth every penny and definitely worth a revist.
