Sculptureum & Rothko Restaurant – Matakana

Great experience at set menu lunch. Waitress was outstanding, also food server who explained what each course was and best order of eating certain combinations. Food was very good, indicative of the price. A very good dining experience. Gallery/gift shop attached worth a visit and there is the sculptureum, looked intriguing but not visited this time around due to rain. A fine dining experience for a special occasion.

Chef's choice degustation menu of 3 snacks, 2 small plates, and a main with side followed by a sweet treat was a superb collection of great tastes at a very good price. Recommended!

This was a fantastic experience. The tastes were so varied and unique. I absolutely loved it. It’s ruined me for front of house experience now that I’ve eaten at the chefs table. Neil the head chef was gracious, efficient and took the time to explain the subtleties of each dish. From the delicious aftertaste of the duck to the smoky hints of the squid it was phenomenal. The service from staff was friendly without being intrusive. By far the best food experience I’ve had in the Auckland district.

Loved every minute of it! We had the pleasure of meeting Chef Neil, who was absolutely fantastic. Gazelle and the sommelier were both incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful throughout the evening. Thank you for such an unforgettable night and dining experience. We’re looking forward to seeing more collaborations in Auckland soon otherwise, we'll be back!
